The Dancin', celebrates dance and the joie de vivre – what better way to psyche yourself up for the year ahead than with a concoction of dance treats to marvel at and inspire you for the year ahead.

  • Listed as one of the top 100 things to do before you die, Edinburgh's Hogmanay Street Party is set to be the party of the year, with four stages, 100,000 people and spectacular fireworks!

    This year's Hogmanay street party is bigger than ever hosting four live stages, each catering for a distinct musical taste.

  • Set in West Princes Street Gardens, framed by the brilliant backdrop and fairytale skyline of Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, the Concert in the Gardens is the jewel in the crown of Edinburgh's Hogmanay.

    This year's celebrations will be opened by Scottish singer, songwriter Paolo Nutini as he kicks off the proceedings at the new earlier time of 9pm, giving the revellers even more time to soak up the electric atmosphere, take in the impressive firework display and dance the night away with the eclectic selection of acts on offer on the main stage.

    One of the most anticipated cultural aspects to the programme is the debut of Feet First, a brand new, specially commissioned event for the 1st January 2009.

    Edinburgh’s Hogmanay today reveals a world-class programme of New Year celebrations, with Groove Armada spearheading a host of new events and performances from the best acts on the British music scene. Their electric mix of music, light, fireworks and amplified atmosphere promises to be the stage spectacle of the year.

  • Internationally acclaimed indie band of the moment and NME Radar award winners, Glasvegas, are today (30th October) announced as the latest act in the star line up for Edinburgh's Hogmanay. The Glasgow-based band, who have stormed the UK charts with their singles Geraldine and Daddy's Gone, will be very special guests on the Waverley Stage at Edinburgh's Hogmanay Street Party. Street Party stages will go live at the new, earlier time of 9.00 pm on 31 December 2009.
