The Loony Dook

Dates: 1 Jan 2008
Times: 11:00 - 13:00
Location:

The Moorings, 24-26 Hopetoun Road, South Queensferry

Entry: Free event with donations collected for Radio Forth's Help a Child Appeal.
Celebrate the New Year by taking part in the 22nd Loony Dook, the annual splash in the River Forth in the shadow of the world-famous Forth Bridge.

Sponsorship forms to raise money for Radio Forth's Help a Child Appeal are available from The Moorings.

You don't have to be loony, mad or brave but it helps.  Fancy dress is encouraged but make sure you wear sensible footwear.

Join in the grand parade led by our pipers through Queensferry's High Street then, if you're still daft enough, take a refreshing dook in the Forth in the shadow of the famous bridges.

After the event, it's back to the welcome comfort of The Moorings to enjoy a well-earned hot soup and a toddy, courtesy of the owners.

Spectators welcome, there are plenty of vantage points to view this crazy event.

South Queensferry has a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants, all open on New Year's Day.
